The Nicholas Henderson Post Area

Please post the your entries in your WordPress/SoundCloud accounts first as you would a regular assignment. Then post your “Daily Meds” entry (Word Form) under this section along with you SoundCloud link (under the “Daily Meds” section the recording applies to) of your recording assignment of the day. Remember this is to be done everyday for the rest of the course.  Each day you will pick a topic/theme from a new page in the “Daily Meds” to create, record and write on. You will turn-in two daily assignments to this “Daily Med Blog” (Personal WordPress blog and Soundcloud recording) in one post under the “Students Designated Post Area” . Start with your WordPress Account first, then Musical Daily Meds Blog, then Copy and Paste that Link under this post in the “Leave a Reply” section. All posts on all three WordPress sites(1. Students account. 2. Musical Daily Meds. 3. Intro to Audio.) need to be labeled with the student’s name, time, week, day, date, and topic title at the beginning of the post (Example: John Doe, 11:25pm, Week 1 Day 3 April 28, Begin Again). Remember you can link all assignment topics to the “Daily Meds Topic” of choice to help aid in finding a source of inspiration that is best for your recording and video needs. The Daily Meds Workbook can be found at (https://musicaldailymeds.wordpress.com/the-workbook/).

    Creative Word: Connect (page 38)

Creative Experiment: Throwing Out the Right

Sometimes when I write, I jumble up the words. A lot of times I scrap the but I should save it and see if it applies better somewhere down the line.

    Daily Dose: Lines of Communication

Listening to the world around us and asking questions about things we both think we understand and that which we don’t is important for our mental health. Communicating within ourselves and the world around us helps us to figure out who and what we are in the world.

    Daily Act: Conscious Communication

For the rest of the day, I will strive to keep asking myself what I want from the things I’m doing and the world around me.

  3. Nick Henderson, Week 1 day 2, July 10, Topic: Bound page 47

Tiny Guitar by SquarePoet Inc. This app allows you to play popular songs on guitar on your phone.

Guitar Tuna by Yousician Ltd. This app lets you use your phone as a tuner for guitar and learn chords.

    Creative Word: Bound

    Creative Experiment: Helping Others

Doing something for someone else can give you an entirely new perspective on something. I play text-based games online, and often me and my friends have to create our own mechanics (this power does this much damage, etc). When one of us gets stuck, a bunch of us brainstorm to try and fix it. When we finally balance it all out, we have a bunch of new half-baked ideas that we take back with us to our own plans.

    Daily Dose: Serendipity

Writing is a big thing for me. I love to write about characters I’ve made up or based off people around me. A lot of time it takes me a while to get started writing and get anywhere. But sometimes, the words seem to just flow, like they’ve already pre-written themselves and are just waiting to be found.

Daily Action: Look for the Miracles

Later today as I write, I will try to take note of the times that I find the the perfect sentence or the right way to describe something, and focus on what made me think of them.

Listening: Watsky & Mody – Ghost Party

This song, paired with some spoken word is very light, and makes me think about the things that are important to me.

  4. Nicholas Henderson, Day 8, 8:30AM, Page 88 Topic: Possess Greatness

    Creative Experiment: Upside Down

Inverting or reversing note progressions or tracks is a fun way to manipulate sound. It gives you a exact opposite of the original and, when added together, can make a track sound more active and “full”.

    Daily Dose: Talent

Talent is definitely something to be cherished, but it isn’t always inherent, it doesn’t always come in a completed package. Many of the talented and gifted people of the world need to practice and refine these skills and talents. In the end, it doesn’t matter how talented you are if you don’t practice and develop it.

Daily Action: Cultivating Towards My Full Capacity

Today I will focus on my own abilities and work to develop them further within myself with focus and practice.
